Pio Cesare Oltre Langhe DOC 2020 - 0.75l
Our "Oltre" is a unique cuvée made from the Nebbiolo and Barbera grape varieties with small proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards on our family farms.
Winemaking takes place in stainless steel tanks with a 20-day skin contact maceration. The wine is then aged in barrels for 24 months, with a small portion being stored in French oak barrels.
"Oltre" is the first "non-varietal" wine from Pio Cesare and is aimed at lovers of Piedmontese wines with an international touch. This wine serves as an introduction to the world of great classic wines from Piedmont.
Since 1881, the winery founded by Pio Cesare has stood for the highest quality and tradition in the production of the famous wines from the Langhe area near Alba. Pio Cesare was one of the pioneers who recognized the potential and quality of Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera early on and believed in the possibilities of Piedmont. Pio Cesare has been one of the leading wineries in Piedmont since the mid-19th century.
