Pio Cesare Fides Barbera d’Alba Superiore Mosconi 2021 - 0.75l
The Fides Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Vigna Mosconi" is a DOC wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. As of 2017, this wine comes exclusively from a selection of Barbera grapes, coming from the oldest vines of the Mosconi vineyard, our family's most recent acquisition in Monforte d'Alba, in the Barolo area. The name "Fides" represents our belief in the Barbera grape variety, which has always been cultivated in prestigious areas. Since 2017, the label has been expanded to include the names “Vigna Mosconi” and “Barbera d’Alba Superiore”.
The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins for about 30 days.
After bottling, the wine matures immediately for about 12 months in French oak barrels and a small part in barriques.
This wine is characterized by very low yields and a strict grape selection. It is produced in very small quantities and is full-bodied, balanced and rich. With spicy notes and hints of ripe fruit, it has exceptional longevity.
