We are a small, family-run company in southern Germany. After living in Portugal for many years, we returned to Germany and launched the Wine Palate 2021 project. Our goal is to bring excellent wines and port wines from Portugal, which are less known, closer to the German palate. Our range now includes wines from Portugal, Spain and Italy. They all share one thing in common: we have personally tasted them and they correspond to the level and style we expect from a wine in their price range. True to the name of our shop “Sauter’s Weingamen”
History of Weingaumen
Family members
At Weingaumen, the entire family is involved, with two generations working closely together. Parents Hans (second from left) and Isabella (third from left) not only provided the initial financial support, but also contributed their extensive experience with Portugal, Spain and Italy. The eldest daughter Rosalie (second from right) is responsible for the content of the online shop and is involved in marketing. The youngest son, Maximilian (first from the right), takes care of the warehouse, purchasing and personally packing many packages. Ricco, the middle of the three siblings (first from left), is a trained sommelier and, among other things, makes the wine selection and is responsible for the shop system. But even beyond that, their respective partners are now fully involved and help out diligently.

When you shop at Weingaumen, you are proactively supporting a small, family-run business where every order is packed by hand. Many of our wines come from small wineries that do excellent work in their niche. We don't think much of the typical supermarket wines. Our desire with wine palates is to bring our customers closer to wines that have been produced at a fair price level for both the customer and the winery.
