Pio Cesare Barolo Pio 2019 - 0.75l
Our Barolo DOCG, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, is the result of a careful selection of grapes from our own vineyards located in various locations within the Barolo region. These vineyards span Serralunga d'Alba (Cascina Ornato, La Serra and Briccolina), Grinzane Cavour (Gustava and Garretti), La Morra (Roncaglie), Novello (Ravera) and, since the 2015 harvest, Monforte d'Alba (Mosconi) .
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins at fairly high temperatures for about 30 days.
The wine is then aged for around 30 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels and partly in barriques.
Our Barolo is characterized by its very classic style: elegance and finesse, ripe and spicy fruit aromas, significant but not dominating tannins, a solid structure and concentration. It has an exceptionally long lifespan.
Our Barolo is by no means a "base wine", but has always and traditionally represented the most authentic interpretation of the various great terroirs of the Barolo region.
