Barbera d’Alba “Elena” 2021 - Roberto Sarotto - Weingaumen.com
Description

Roberto Sarotto Barbera d'Alba “Elena” 2021 - 0.75l

Roberto Sarotto’s “Barbera d’Alba “Elena”” is more than just a wine, it tells a family story. This drop is dedicated to Elena, Roberto Sarotto's second child, born in 1998. The origin of this wine lies in the winery's oldest vineyards, which are located in a prime southern location.

The production of this wine is characterized by care and patience. After hand-harvesting at the end of September, the wine goes through a cold maceration process that allows it to optimally develop its fruity aromas. This is followed by ten days of fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then stored in the same tank for two months before being allowed to age in American oak barrels for 14 months. After this time, another resting phase of 6 months takes place in the stainless steel tank. Before it finds its way to the consumer, it matures in the bottle for an additional 6 months.

In the glass, the Barbera d’Alba “Elena” unfolds its impressive bouquet: a scent of ripe fruit fills the nose, accompanied by the complexity that one would expect from such a carefully crafted wine. On the palate it is powerful and full-bodied, revealing a harmonious balance of structure, acidity and tannins. Its taste is rich, round and persistent. This is a wine that not only makes you drink, but also makes you think - a meditation wine. It is the perfect accompaniment to opulent pasta dishes and speaks of tradition and family ties with every sip. A real pleasure in every respect.

Roberto Sarotto
