2016 Quinta do Crasto Vinha da Ponte Red
The Quinta do Crasto, located on the right bank of the Douro River between Régua and Pinhão, is a renowned winery with an area of around 130 hectares, of which 70 hectares are planted with vines. The company's property also includes the Quinta do Querindelo with 10 hectares of old vineyards and the Quinta da Cabreira in the Douro Superior with 114 hectares of wine-growing area.
Located in the historic, isolated Douro region, Quinta do Crasto has been owned by the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century. As is common with many large quintas in the Douro, the roots of the Quinta do Crasto go back a long way - the name “Crasto” is derived from the Latin word “castrum”, which means Roman fortress.
