Quinta do Crasto

Die Ursprünge der Quinta do Crasto gehen zurück in das Jahr 1615. Auf 70 von insgesamt 130 Hektar werden Rebstöcke angepflanzt. Traditionell wurde Mischpflanzung betrieben, seit 1986 werden sukzessive horizontale Terrassen angelegt. Die Benutzung traditioneller "Lagares" (offene Granitgärtanks) auf der einen Seite und modernste Vinifizierung in Stahltanks auf der anderen Seite zeigen, dass die Quinta do Crasto bestrebt ist, den Terroirgedanken mit einem modernen Weinstil zu verbinden.

Belohnt werden diese Anstrengungen mit zahlreichen internationalen Auszeichnungen. Die Weine zeichnen sich aus durch eine seltene Kombination von Verständlichkeit und Zuverlässigkeit und Tiefe in Struktur und Aromatik. Die Vereinigung von Douro spezifischen Aromen, Modernität, Länge und Charme machen diese Weine unwiderstehlich.
