Winemaking
The grapes were destemmed and pressed upon arrival at the winery. Maceration lasted about 6 days at a temperature of 28-30°C. After malolactic fermentation, which was completed by the end of December, the wine matured in the cellar for about 12 months.
Historical data
Mompertone comes from vineyards in the Monferrato area, located on calcareous, clayey soils with widespread sandy veins. These conditions give the wine an enveloping taste, characterized by soft and elegant tannins.
Tasting notes
Mompertone has an intense ruby red color. The nose is enveloping: notes of spices, vanilla, cocoa, undergrowth and cherry characterize the aromatic bouquet. On the palate it is rich and velvety, persistent and harmonious. The tannins are soft and elegant.
