Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC Tatone Spinelli
Abruzzo, a medium-sized wine-growing region in central Italy, offers ideal conditions for growing wine with its limestone, sandy, clay and gravel soils and a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters.
The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, not to be confused with the city of Montepulciano, is one of the most famous wines in the region and must consist of at least 70% of the Montepulciano grape variety. These red wines are typically deep dark in color, juicy and have a subtle acidity.
Characteristics of the wine: Intense ruby red, opulent aroma of red berries and Amarena cherries, with notes of cinnamon, licorice, chocolate and vanilla. On the palate the wine is complex, with lively acidity and fine tannins. The long finale rounds off the taste experience.
Food recommendation: Can be perfectly combined with strong cheese as well as fried or braised dishes, for example Arista alla Toscana, seasoned with rosemary and sage.
