Description
Esporão Reserva Tinto comes from the Alentejo wine-growing region. The grapes grow in clay and loamy soils in lots of sun. Typical of wines from the Alentejo, the wine is a cuvée made from several grapes. The following grapes are used:
Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Syrah, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Franca
After harvest, the wine ages for 12 months in oak barrels, 60% American oak and 40% French oak, and then 8 months in bottle.
Nose
Aromas of dark plums, fresh minty and spicy notes with some cloves. Complex and persistent bouquet.
The taste
Balanced on the palate, with velvety tannins full of character, in harmony with the fruit and an intense and elegant finish.
