Quinta de Chocapalha

Die Quinta de Chocapalha befindet sich in Alenquer, 45 km nordöstlich von Lissabon. Die auf das 16. Jhd. zurückreichende Weinbautradition auf dieser Quinta wurde in den 1980er Jahren nach dem Erwerb durch die Familie Tavares e Silve wiederbelebt. Die Rebanlagen wurden komplett erneuert, ebenso mussten die Gebäude und die traditionellen Granitgärtanks (lagares) gründlich renoviert werden. Im Jahr 2000 hatten die auf 45 ha neu gepflanzten Reben die Reife und Qualität, dass man beginnen konnte eine eigene Weinlinie aufzubauen. Der Stil ist vorsichtig modern, kraftvoll, harmonisch und balanciert. Die cool-climate-Bedingungen ergeben frische, elegante und mineralische Weißweine, die Rotweine bestechen durch eine lebhafte und kräftige Beerennase, mit würzigem und herzhaftem Abgang.
