Background: It was only a matter of time, or rather a question of the right moment, until Albert Jané would fulfill his dream of owning his own vineyards in the Priorat. This had come after he had brought his wines from the neighboring D.O. Montsant caused quite a stir and raised high expectations with difficult growing conditions. For a long time no one had dared to grow wine in the rugged Priorat with its spectacularly sloping gorges. Only in the last few years have daring quality fanatics been drawn to the poor, impassable soils again. Albert Jané is one of them. Through his work in Montsant, he knew what excellent wines old Garnache and Carinena vines can produce under extreme conditions. In order to push his claim to the extreme, he sought out ancient vines on the steep northern slopes of the mountains, from which he produced minimal yields per hectare. The results are amazing concentrates with depth and balance and an elegant, cool style. All we can say is: Albert Jané can also do Priorat, and how!
