The Tapada de Villar Tinto 2021 from Quinta das Arcas presents itself in a dark ruby red and seduces the nose with a complex variety of aromas. Fragrant notes of ripe plums mix with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. This full-bodied red wine impresses on the palate with well-integrated acidity and soft tannins. It owes its depth and elegance to four months of aging in Portuguese and French oak, which gives the wine a long finish. This Tinto is the perfect accompaniment to salami, ham and cheese or a variety of “tapas”. As a testament to its outstanding quality, the 2016 vintage was awarded the gold medal at the 2016 Selection Awards.
