DFJ Vinhos

Erfolgreich wie nur wenige andere Weinmacher seines Landes, erzeugt José Neiva Correia, als Sohn von Weinbauern in Alenquer (Tejo) geboren, in seiner Kellerei Quinta da Fonte Bela in Vila Chã de Ourique (Cartaxo), 80 km nördlich von Lissabon entfernt, Wein aus den unterschiedlichsten Regionen Portugals. Seine Ausbildung als Önologe absolvierte der sympathische und kreative 68-jährige Correia in Porto, Bordeaux und Geisenheim. Für die unter dem Namen DFJ Vinhos verkauften Weine erhält José Neiva Correia regelmäßig weltweit eine Vielzahl von Auszeichnungen: So wurde der PORTADA WINEMAKER‘S SELECTION bereits mehrfach zum „Wein des Jahres” (»International Wine Challenge London«) gekürt. Zu der Kellerei, deren Ursprünge bis in das Jahr 1897 zurückreichen, gehören mittlerweile mehr als 400 ha eigene Weinberge. Der kreative Weinmacher, der u. a. 30 ha Pinot Noir bewirtschaftet, experimentiert in seinen Weinbergen auch mit Rebsorten wie Dornfelder, Riesling und Tannat. Ausgebaut werden seine Weine ausschließlich in französischen Eichenfässern von Seguin Moreau, die in der eigenen Küferei aufbereitet werden.
